I don't know how there can be a single negative review of this place...Hand crafted true treat...very reasonable prices...top tier...it is a true craft what this place can do with baked goods. I am a workout health guy and don't get to eat this type of stuff very often but once a week my wife picks me up a treat and boy oh boy I have NEVER been disappointed...neither will you!
Sorry for the long post...Sweet Lola's was my first pick for my wedding cake this June. I contacted them through the website and was emailing someone back and forth. Then all of a sudden they stopped emailing me so I called. Everytime I called no one could help me set up an appointment for a cake testing. The last time I called the told me I shouldn't expect a call back until after Valentine's day. A few weeks went by and not a call back. So I called again and they told me that my date was taken which was still available when I first got in contact with them. They didn't seem like they really wanted my business so I got my cake through Sweet Dreams which I highly recommend too everyone! Very nice people to work with there!
Our favorite must-stop shop in Wausau. The cupcakes are good with frosting that isn't cloying but just right. The frosting cups are fun, and the Opera cake is amazing. Good coffee and ice cream along with friendly service! Love!
I generally always try to eat locally and support small businesses so when I was in the area burning time and hanging out with some friends this place was one of my top choices to visit. Upon arrival there are many choices that call out to you, I ended up getting a mint brownie and a couple cookies so I could try a few things and my friends also got a few things. All that can be said about this place is you will be hooked once you take the first bite no matter what you try. My friends and I fell in love with this place and will be back in the future or we will get them delivered to us via 715 Delivery which will deliver for a certain amount that would be money well spent. My advice try anything since it is all made in house and you will not be disappointed!
This was our first visit. I was impressed with the selection offered (including gluten free) so we ordered a variety of desserts to take home to enjoy over the next few days. We were really disappointed with how gross the frosting tasted...it was like they didn't add any sugar or flavoring, it just tasted like whipped crisco. This was on all of the different cupcakes and cake slices we got. While it's a cute store in a fun location, I'd rather just buy something from the grocery store bakery next time.
