I visited the hotel for a wedding reception and as an overnight guest. The recption hall was a nice size and carried sound well. It made for a nice base for wedding decor. As an overnight guest, the room was clean and well sized for the price. My largest complaint with the hotel was the noise. You can easily hear music from a wedding reception, as well as hear people too easily right outside of your room and the rooms being cleaned and vacuumed in the early morning. The shower knob was falling off which made it difficult to manage. However, the front desk was accomadating to our needs and friendly. Overall I would rate the wedding reception experience related to the hotel space a 4 and the overnight stay a 3. The hotel is nicely located and I would stay again if in the area, however I wouldn't go out of my way to stay again
I don't give 5 stars just because.... They have to be earned. The service was excellent. The room was clean and. Comfortable. The location was very convenient.
Room wasn't ready when we checked in, and we weren't able to get into a room until about an hour after we arrived. Other than that, the rooms were very nice, been though it seemed like we had to walk forever to get to our room because of the layout of the building. The neighborhood was a great place with lots of things to do.
I was looking for a place to stay within walking distance of downtown Wausau's great shopping, entertainment and dining. I was pleased to discover the Jefferson Street Inn with its full complement of amenities located precisely in the middle of things. I most often stay at Hampton Inn's and my room at the Jefferson Street Inn compared favorably to that. I expect that I will be back before long with my family for a vacation break weekend.
Came here spur of the moment to see a concert at the nearby Grand Theater, which is about a block away. The staff couldn't have been any nicer and I had a great stay at the hotel. Room was clean, temperate--individual control in room, bed was comfy and room was quiet. If you have issues with fragrances, they don't use a lot of the artificial scents in the rooms or facility. The hotel has a restaurant/bar on premises, the City Cafe, and there are several restaurant/bars in the immediate area. There is a small mall a block away and Wausau's historic Third Street is less than a block away. Parking is available, first come first serve, at the side of the hotel and there are passes available to the garage across the street. There is a ramp on the 2nd floor connecting the lot to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel.
